Surgical & Non-Surgical Care
Advanced Orthopedic Treatment Options
Every patient’s condition is different. Dr. Amin works with patients to develop an individualized treatment strategy based on their diagnosis, symptoms, activity level and goals. Treatment may include conservative therapies, injections or surgical intervention when appropriate.

Establish the Diagnosis
A focused history, examination and imaging identify what is actually driving your symptoms.
Try the Least Invasive Option First
Therapy, activity modification, splinting, medication and injections are considered before surgery.
Operate Only When It Helps
When surgery is the right answer, the goal is to restore function with the least disruption possible.
Treatment Categories
Find the Right Treatment for Your Condition
Treatment is organized around the region being treated and the type of problem being solved. Each section below explains what the procedure does, when it is considered, and what recovery tends to look like.
Hand Surgery
Carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, thumb base reconstruction, Dupuytren's fasciectomy and tendon repair of the hand and fingers.
- Carpal Tunnel Release
- LRTI for Thumb Base Arthritis
- Trigger Finger Release
- Dupuytren's Fasciectomy
- Tendon Repair & Transfer
Wrist Surgery
Wrist arthroscopy, TFCC repair and reconstruction, ligament repair, ganglion excision and partial joint fusion for wrist arthritis.
- Wrist Arthroscopy
- TFCC Repair & Reconstruction
- Ligament Repair
- Ganglion Cyst Excision
- Partial Wrist Fusion
Nerve Surgery
Decompression and repair for compressed or injured nerves of the hand, wrist and elbow — including carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome.
- Carpal Tunnel Release
- Cubital Tunnel Release
- Nerve Repair
- Nerve Transfer
- Compression Release
Fracture Surgery
Internal fixation to restore alignment and stability after a broken bone, from the shoulder down to the fingers.
- Distal Radius Fracture Fixation
- Scaphoid Fracture Fixation
- Hand & Finger Fracture Fixation
- Elbow Fracture Fixation
- Shoulder Fracture Fixation
Joint Replacement
Shoulder arthroplasty and finger joint arthroplasty for arthritis that has not responded to non-operative treatment.
- Shoulder Arthroplasty for Arthritis
- Shoulder Arthroplasty for Fracture
- Finger Joint Arthroplasty
- Joint Reconstruction
Injections
Targeted injection treatments that can calm inflammation, support healing or soften the cords of Dupuytren's contracture.
- Cortisone Injections
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
- Collagenase for Dupuytren's
- Trigger Point Injection
Not sure which category fits your symptoms? A focused evaluation is the fastest way to an answer. Many patients arrive knowing where it hurts but not what it is called.
Not Every Problem Needs an Operation
The goal of treatment is to restore function and reduce pain — surgery is one tool for that, not the only one. A great deal of upper-extremity care is delivered without an operating room at all.
Non-Surgical Treatment
Often the first step, and frequently enough on its own.
Activity Modification & Rest
Reducing the specific motion or load that provokes symptoms gives irritated tissue room to settle.
Splinting & Bracing
A properly positioned brace can rest a tendon, offload a nerve or protect a healing structure.
Therapy & Exercise
A guided regimen restores motion, strength and grip while addressing the mechanics behind the problem.
Medication
Over-the-counter anti-inflammatories may reduce pain and swelling in the early phase. These medications are not for everyone and have side effects and interactions with other medications. Please discuss with your physician.
Injections
Cortisone, PRP or collagenase delivered to a specific target to calm inflammation or alter tissue.
Surgical Treatment
Considered when non-operative care has not resolved the problem, or when the injury itself demands timely intervention.
When Conservative Care Falls Short
Symptoms that persist despite a fair trial of non-operative treatment are a common reason to discuss surgery.
When Structure Is Lost
A displaced fracture, a ruptured tendon or a torn ligament may not heal reliably without repair or fixation.
When a Nerve Stays Compressed
Persistent numbness, weakness or muscle wasting may warrant surgical decompression.
Minimally Invasive When Possible
Arthroscopy and small-incision techniques are used where they offer a clear advantage.
Risks Discussed Openly
Outcomes after surgery vary. Risks and benefits are discussed in detail with your treating physician.
